Dead turtles are being found one after another on the beach…

Dead turtles are being found one after another at various points on the Cox’s Bazar beach in Bangladesh. 68 dead turtles washed up on Saturday and Sunday. Researchers said the dead turtles are of the Olive Ridley species. Environmentalists are concerned about the death of turtles during the breeding season.
However, according to locals, the number of dead turtles washed up this year has increased unusually compared to other years.

Similarly, 29 dead turtles washed up at various points on the coast in January and February last year. In addition, 3 dead dolphins and 1 dead parakeet washed up during that time.
Scientific officer Mohammad Shimul Bhuiyan said that the breeding season for sea turtles is from November to March. During this time, mother turtles come to the coast to lay eggs. At that time, many turtles get caught in fishermen’s nets and die after being hit by large boats moving in the sea. However, it will be possible to know the real cause of the turtles’ death after an investigation.
